Qubad hands Mazdak over to Kisra (Anushirvan), allowing him to deal with Mazdak as he sees fit. Kisra has 3,000 Mazdakites 'planted' upside down in an enclosed garden, and invites the prophet to come a see the fruit of what he had sown. Mazdak faints at the sight, and is hung upside down on gallows and shot through with arrows.
