Two folios from a dispersed manuscript, dated by Sotheby's 973/1565. In 1565, Bahram Mirza, nephew of Shah Tahmasp, returned to Mashhad from a prolonged banishment and resumed government. The ms. might have been produced there, by artists fromTahmasp's court n Qazvin.

Various other folios from the same ms. were sold in Sotheby's as follows: 14 October 1999, lot 44;13 April 2000, lot 34; 2 April 2004, lot 37 and 5 April 2006, lots 43-44.
